I know I have been gone for a while, but my school schedule was a little hectic for a few weeks. But, with the NFL season now closed, its time to review my predictions of the year.

W Detroit @ Atlanta / Minnesota @ W Green Bay
New Orleans @ W San Francisco / W Seattle @ Washington

SUPER BOWL
Baltimore vs. W Green Bay / W Baltimore vs. San Francisco
So, I did see Baltimore's run to the Super Bowl through New England, but I didn't see their win. Green Bay, didn't make the championship run I was expecting either, and Detroit and Oakland both disappointed me. But, it was a fairly successful year.

Hollywood Awards
With the People's Choice Awards being handed out last night, and the Oscar nominations this morning, I have to admit I am very disappointed. I will start with the People's Choice (PC), which I think are the most important awards in Hollywood. The Hunger Games received way to many awards, considering the other movies nominated. In the category of Favorite Movie, I would put Hunger Games at third, with The Dark Knight Rises as first and The Avengers a close second; but all other movies are light years behind these two epic films. Next, the category of Favorite Movie Actress, Jennifer Lawernce was good but not great like Anne Hathaway, and both Scarlett Johansson and Mila Kunis put up better performances. And how can you even claim that The Hunger Games is a movie franchise when it has only released one film? The Dark Knight Trilogy should have taken that award or The Avengers with their amazing work, molding so many different films into one franchise and one story.
My scone beef in this post is the lack of The Dark Knight Rises earning an Oscar nomination today. Though I can't say for certain the film should win over films like Lincoln and Les Miserables, it certainly deserves a nomination more than Argo or Django Unchained. These movies are good films but The Dark Knight Rises is a great, once in a generation film! However, I'm pretty sure one of the reasons why the caped crusader was snubbed by the Hollywood elite again was the film's use of the talking points from the Occupy Wall St movement, a movement Hollywood greatly adored and supported, in their villains master plan. Christopher Nolan, the mastermind behind the Dark Knight Trilogy, gave a true glimpse of what that kind of mind set can lead too. But it also stepped on the toes of Hollywood hypocrites.
This is just my rant over the idiots of Tinsel Town!

NCAA National Football Championship
My predicition of the University of Alabama winning the BCS National Championship came through. Though the game was much more lopsided than I expected, I knew Saban wouldn't let his team loose again. With that said I would like to point out a few things. Alabam is a dynasty, though I do not think they will make it three in aa row next season; Nick Saban is the best coach in college football; the SEC is the most dominant conference in the nation and will be for years to come. Though I did say early in the season, that teams from the Sun Belt and other lower conferences couldn't compete with the SEC's best, I was wrong after seeing many of those teams push many SEC teams to the wire. However, the top teams from the top conferences couldn't handle the SEC, with only Louisville really dominating their SEC opponent. The Big Ten is a joke when compared to the SEC; do not get me wrong, they have good schools and produce great conference games and some of the greatest rivalries, they cannot compete with the SEC's best. Everyone wants to say Ohio State can compete under Urban Myer, and they are a good team, most likely the best in the Big Ten, but Saban would dismantle their offense and embarrase their defense. The Big 12 and Big East are crumbling; though the Big 12 has made could efforts to survive the conference reshifting, the Big East is doomed. The Pac 12 can try to brag all they want about their great offenses, but their defenses suck. Oregon's offense is amazing, but they do not play any strong enough defense to truely prepare them for a major show down with Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Texas A&M, or South Carolina. The reason the SEC has won the national title game for seven years straight is because they are tested so much during the season that the championship is just another game to them. Not that their opponents aren't good, it's just that they have already seen what they are capable of and where their weaknesses are and can fix them. This is what makes the SEC the best conference, and why, even with the new playoff system, they will continue to win the big game.
I said I do not think Alabama will three-peat next season and this is why, Saban is a great coach, but the SEC is gunning for him. He will loose at least one game, knocking him out of the conference title game. My predicition is either Florida or Texas A&M wins the conference and they will face an Oregon team that hasn't faced a real defense and will learn that there are defensive players out there that are just as fast as their offense.

Fiscal Disaster
The federal government is leading our nation towards an economic disaster, at a level this nation will not be able to recover from! This comes from the government's utter ignorance of economic reality. We cannot tax the rich to fund the spending level our government has, let alone the level it will reach when Obamacare takes full effect. The only way to truly prevent the collapse of our national economy and the end of capitalism in our nation, we must make a balanced budget a requirement in the constitution. No longer can we allow the government to accumulate so much debt.
There is one key way we can fix this, government consolidation. By consolidating redundant government agencies and departments we can cut spending drastically. I disagree with a government worker making more than the average American. But, that would not be enough, there is so much more that needs to be fixed.

NCAA Football Review
Well, the College football regular season has ended and it is time to see how my predictions turned out.
Conference: Winner/Prediction
SEC: Alabama/Alabama
This prediction was easy, it's Bama! Though Texas A&M was able to give them a scare near the end of the season, Nick Saban is poised to win three National Titles in a row.
PAC 12: Stanford/Oregon
This prediction didn't pan out, Oregon will play in a BCS Bowl, but Stanford won their head-to-head match up and then beat UCLA in the conference championship.
ACC: Florida State/Clemson
I failed to see FSU's potential in capturing the ACC title. I even over estimated Virginia Tech.
BIG 10: Wisconsin/Michigan
I did see Wisconsin going to the conference title game, but I predicted Michigan winning, instead Nebraska lost to the Badgers. Of course, Wisconsin was only in the championship game because Ohio State and Penn State were both ineligible for the conference title.
BIG 12: Kansas State/Texas
No one really saw Kansas State dominating the conference, and of course it is Texas' conference, so Texas was the natural choice. However, Texas struggled to earn only eight wins on the season.
The National Championship
Alabama will beat Notre Dame in the BCS Championship game in a battle of the defenses. The Fighting Irish will put up a good fight and keep it close, but Nick Saban's team has more experience in the big game and this will be the key advantage.

Sexual Frustrations
I haven't written a post in quite a while. This is because I have been so busy with finals and school projects. This post will be about a subject that has been troubling me for the past few weeks. Sex's role in our modern culture.
Despite what you may think, I am not going to sit here and write about how its evil to have sex before marriage because God said it was. I am a Christian, I know God commanded us to wait until marriage, and yes I did wait until marriage; but what we do not think about is why we should wait. Sex is a very important part of a relationship, and it is an amazing experience. But, people today do not know its true position in a relationship. Neither did people of old understand its importance. Our culture has failed to grasp the concept of sex for centuries. I do not claim to be an expert, but I do think I have finally discovered its true importance and position in a relationship.
In our society today, sex is a casual act, committed with anyone and everyone. This is destroying our future because it is destroying our ability to form long lasting relationships. Why is casual sex so harmful to humans? Because sex is an act of true vulnerability. When you engage in sexual acts with a person, you are giving them a place in your soul. Things go wrong when that person doesn't know what to do with that space in your soul and therefore hurts you emotionally. Also, sex has become the foundation of relationships. When my wife and i were engaged, people would ask us if we had sex, when we would answer no they would ask, "if you were buying a car, wouldn't you test drive it before you buy?" This completely goes against what sex truly is, and leads to the idea, "if the sex isn't good then the relationship isn't good. If the sex is good then the relationship will be strong." How can we honestly expect any relationship to work with a mind set like this? The truth is that sex is only as good as the relationship itself; if the relationship is good and strong, then the sex will be good. Yes, you may be able to make a woman reach orgasm every time, but if you do not reach an emotional connection with her than you have destroyed a part of her soul. No longer can we focus on sex, we must fix the relationship in order to make the sexual connection great.
But how can we make a relationship strong enough for sex. This is where Christians have it right when they say wait for marriage. Though most of us do not know what marriage actually stands for. Marriage is the ultimate commitment between a man and a woman to always put the needs and wants of the the other person before their own. For men, this means never asking her to do anything for or too you. we must always ask her what she needs, what she wants, how can we help, and how can I improve myself for you. I want to point out that I did not say how can you make her happy. In our modern minds, we are always about happiness, but happiness comes and goes. Every media outlet, whether it is movies, television shows, music, or literature says we have to be happy when we are married, this is a lie. Marriage doesn't make people happy, content people make a marriage. We must be content with what we are and where we are going. This would lead to more marriages lasting, that and when we are willing to accept that marriage/relationships is about sacrificing your needs and desires whether the person makes you happy or not. Love is built over years; when you wake up every morning and choose to stay with the person you woke up next too even though they piss you off and aren't as sexy looking as some of the other women you know. This is a relationship, its about choice, not emotions. I chose to stay with my wife, I don't always feel like staying with her, but it doesn't matter how I feel, I promised to be hers and I will keep that promise because I choose to.
When two people choose to be this close and choose to never let anything rip them apart, then they have earned the right to enter into a sexual experience that will only make them closer. This is sex's role in a relationship and why we as men to understand it before we can ask that really cute girl out. I hope this advice is helpful and that it helps your relationship grow.
